Just to give relevance this device is shipping on newer ThinkPads.

There no new libbsapi.so for it yet. As soon as it is published by UPEK it will support this device. But I don't know any schedule.

I had asked AuthenTec, the company that makes the Upek 147e:2020 about the linux drivers, and this is the reply they sent me today.
"new version of BSAPI should support this reader, however there is no exact release date at this moment.
