Dual CoreWhile it's based on a Linux 2.6.16 kernel it has full support for multi processor systems including dual core.
Thankyou for your prompt answer, would you say that there is any advantage using YAFPC=Appliance on a multi core system ? I just wonder if i can gain any more speed out of the device with more procs ?
Best Regards Using a multiprocessor system can speed up parallel running processes in general. In case of YAFPC-Appliance this would _not_ speed up multiple print jobs in one print queue (one virtual printer), because jobs in one queue are processed one after another. But if you have multiple print jobs in multiple print queues (many virtual printers) at a given time it can lead to faster response for a given job.
My experience is: If you don't have hundreds of users doing nothing else than hammering out PDF documents all day, you will not "feel" any better performance with a multi processor system. |
