High CPU usage on ESX ServerDear all,
I am using PDF Server on a ESX Server, every thing is running just fine but the PDF Server is using to much CPU we have only 40 users and we have 5 or 10 documents printed a day. VMWare tools are installed do you have any clue? In my production environment the appliance is running on ESX 3.0.2 serving 10 virtual machines. The CPU usage is set to "unlimited" for the appliance there. The appliance serves ~80 users printing ~50 documents a day. The performance graph of ESX shows an average CPU usage of 40 MHz and a maximum of 327 MHz (while pdf creating). This is far away from being too much.
If someone want the appliance to consume less cpu ressources, he can limit cpu usage in ESX server at the cost of slower pdf creation. W.U. |
