update v2 to v5 appliance no external storage

Hello,

if have upgraded my v2 appliance (under vmware server 1.04) to the new 5.01 appliance. Restored the settings from the v2 backup.
When I print to my pdf printers nothing happens. The log says that it has been created. The pdf pinter did not send  an e-mail and the user folder on the external storage was empty. This all worked in v2 in my windows environment.
I have tested the credentials with the test button, it is ok.
I get only pdf's if the printer puts the pdf in the appliance user directory.

Any solution?

Thanks for all the efforts for this great pdf appliance.

Regards,
Marc

some questions:
- did you upgrade using the new iso image?
- if you create a new printer, does it work?
- did you check the printer settings being restored correctly from backup?
- if you reboot the appliance, does it behave the same?

Sorry, I did never test an upgrade from v2 to v5. Maybe there is something not restored correctly.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick response.

I use the new iso image.
A new created printer does not work.
Checked all settings (network, system, printers, mail). Even tried to change something and then change back to the correct setting. Does not help.
Rebooted many times.

Today I deleted the not working v5 virtual machine and set up a new one. Imported my license file, setup the system, network, mail and one printer.
Now it is working like it did in v2.

My conclusion: v2 backups can't be restored in v5.

Marc
