External Storage
Hi,
I´ve Troubles to configure the external Storage.
the following error appears:
Error testing storage!
Error mounting //path/to/share:
retrying with upper case share name mount error 6 = No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
If i type "\\server\share" in my Windows Explorer, i´ll get the share opened.
So, where is the problem and how can i fix this?

Hi Thomas again,
the UNC name must be given in the form
//ServerOrIpaddr/DirectoryName
without trailing slash "/". If you give the servername the appliance must be able to resolve the ip address. If the share is part of an Active Directory the domain name, user and password must be given. User name without preceding domain "user" instaed of "domain\user". Also the share must be writable for the user.
If you want to find out the problem cause step by step do the following:
- have a look at your network environment (Firewall, routing, DNS, WINS etc.)
- use the ip address of the server "//a.b.c.d/sharename"
- enable read/write access to the share for everyone
- use an adminstrator account and password for testing
If one of these tests work try to change your settings one at a step to find out the cause for the error message.
Let me know your results!

I´ve created a share on a windows Workstation, there it works, but on a NAS Filer not.
I see, that the created PDF File is placed in the YAFPC and in the external Storage. is this correct?

The placement of PDF files depends on printer settings (see "Edit Printer" dialog.
